Apologies if this information is already available-- I searched by a few terms and didn't find reference to this.

My problem is that DP 9 won't load my autosaved files. The process is as follows:
1)I try to open autosaved file (either it gives me option of more recent autosave or I double click on file from autosave folder of I drag autosaved file to DP icon)
2)It asks me to "save as"
3)whether I change name or not, after selecting to save it, I'm redirected to the DP opening window menu.

I don't crash much so I don't really know when this started happening. It's fairly annoying though even if I'm just losing ten minutes of work now and then.

Not at the computer right now, but there's a setting within DP that allows you to select what DP does upon launch.

You may have accidentally opted for the "opening window".

Probably under the DP preferences menu.

it forces you to save an autosave ...and goes nowhere..... hmmm

o/t a bit but I never trust auto saves. Cmd-s is a pretty easy thing to remember to do every few minutes and before any major edit or application of a plugin, etc. It's second nature and with redundant TimeMachine backups I've yet to lose a single project nor been unable to restore an errant file.

In some apps (especially Finale) auto-save can interrupt a process. I worry (even in DP) that it might want to auto save, thinking it's a good time, and there'll be a crash or a power issue, hard drive something or another, and the file can easily be damaged.

Actually I should disable auto save, as I 'm always saving - especially on MIDI edits .

It just those few times, where edits are done, then I go get a cold one or something and DP auto saves. So next time around...the dialogue comes up.
