With IBM announcing the dual core chips in July, there is speculation that dual core G5's will be announced in Paris in Sept.

My question to the Mac tech guys out there, how much of a improvement will these dual core processors be?

I'm ready to get a new studio computer, should I wait for the possible announcement of dual core G5's?

yes.. it is not that far away

They'll be as good as the software written for them. That area is seriously lacking, and in such a way that processor speeds don't matter to me at this point.

Kind of like trying to drive a Ferrari at 120MPH on Michigan back roads. Guess which one is a reference to recent software releases.
