DP 9.52 with AutoTune

My apologies if this has been previously discussed. I recently upgraded from DP 8 to DP 9.52. The only third party plugin that fails seems to be AutoTune Evo 6. I emailed Antares and they reminded me that Digital Performer has never been supported by Antares. I've been using AutoTune for years. I'm thinking of upgrading to AutoTune Pro. Anyone have any experiences (positive or negative) with compatibility?

Thanks for any info.

(Mac OS 10.11, Mac Pro 2008, 12 megs Ram, DP 9.52)

I don't use AutoTune 6, but is it 64 bit? If not, that may be your problem. What a useless non-answer from Antares!

Thank you for your response. And yeah, the reply from Antares was curt and almost passive aggressive, as if they have something against DP. Ah well, I will look into the 64 bit suggestion. Thanks again.

AutoTune went 64bit in a paid upgrade to version 7.

As Antares has always posted, it is not supported in DP and never has been. For that reason, they always recommend you download the demo first. BTW, it has never worked in the Windows version of DP since it supports VST3 and AU only.

That said, AT 8 works as a basic plugin to DP but with limited functionality—same as always. I presume the same is true for AutoTune Pro, the current version.

If you want to take advantage of full automation, you need Logic Pro X (which being incompatible with 32 bit plugins, won't work with AT 6) or other compatible host where it is supported. Except for converting GB and Logic files for use in DP, my only other use for Logic is on those extremely rare occasions where I need a host for AT automation. Think of AT in Logic as the stand-alone version that Antares never released.

Logic is $199.99 either stand-alone or in the Apple Pro Apps for Education bundle that includes FCPX and other apps.

Sure.

You'll have to log into your Antares account to see your upgrade price from 6 to Pro. In my case, it's only $129 from AT 8 but my thought is along the lines of, 8 works; I hardly use it. Why bother?

I have DP 9.52 plus Melodyne Studio 4 for the really tricky stuff. Also, Izotope pitch correction as found in a few of their plugs is great as a Ron Popeil plug (you know: "set it and forget it") so I'm pretty well covered.

If a client really needs me to have AT Pro, I'll build the upgrade price into the project, right?

Just an update for anyone who might be interested: although Antares was a bit frustrating in that they refused to offer any information related to Digital Performer (because they don't "support" it), AutoTune Pro seems to be working very well with DP 9.52. I was able to get an upgrade from AutoTune 6 for $129.

You skipped 3 paid upgrades (7 to 7 64bit was not free)? Way to go!
