Hi all!

I haven't found any direct answers to questions so I wonder if anyone can help, please?

I am about to buy a used 828 mk2 FireWire to use for surround sound home cinema. Will this unit work well in this capacity in windows 10? Will I be able to control windows audio with the normal windows volume control for all channels?

Is it easy to configure this unit to work as the normal windows sounds with multi channel audio?

Has anyone done this?

Is there a particular type of FireWire card recommended for this purpose?

Sorry for all the questions but finding a decent and well priced DAC for surround is hard and I've always used pro audio gear in the past. My surround set up is genelec with diy subwoofers!

Thanks!!

Use a FW card with a Texas Instruments (TI) chip set.

There are a number of discussions regarding drivers and Windows 10. I recommend finding and reading them.
