Channels 1-2 no audio no VI output

I'm baffled!!!!
I run two 24io's through a 32 channel desk, for some reason a new anomaly has occurred where I can record audio as always on to channels 1-2 of 24io-1 through my desk and I see the file fine in the project. The file is playing on the mixer meter but I don't see it on the interface or not is it playing through the desk. The same signal will play through 1-2 on 24io-2 however I've checked all the audio setup parameters especially my PCI audio setup and everything is in order. I always have the CueMix console muted as I monitor solely through my desk.
Also none of my VI's will play through 1-2 on 24io-1 all of a sudden.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Assuming you've tried more than one DP project, the only thing that comes to mind is checking bundles. Are there other apps you can try- to narrow it down? You could possibly eliminate DP as the culprit. Could it be hardware related - e.g.cables to your mixer, or something switched/muted at the mixer itself? I'm grasping at straws here.

Phil,
Many thanks for your reply. I've been through all the parameters you suggested to no avail. Console is seeing audio signal from outside pre's etc and recording/playing same on DP channels 1&2 but zero audio on desk or interface 24io-1 1&2, no meters no nuthin'. Totally baffled!!!! I can see it, I can't hear it.
I'm going to add one of my old 2408's or 1224's to the 424 Card and see if I can get them to recognize 1&2 audio. Will advise.
Thank you my friend.

I solved the problem today and in my 15 years of using DP this has never happened before, no clue why now. It turns out that for me the solution was in iTunes which in this case pirated outputs 1&2 in via the PCI 424 selection in iTunes preferences, I don't ever recall that being an issue before and may I add that the master volume in iTunes also stops all 1-2 audio in my setup if the 424 is selected and the fader's at 0.
I always thought that the DP and iTunes shared the card globally regardless of the iTunes master volume. The best solution for me was to select internal in the iTunes preferences when using DP freeing up the channels. Then switch back if you need to reference a demo file quickly on iTunes.

I've had similar issues running my 828es. If I try to play audio from the Finder, Outlook, Mail or iTunes after DP is running, the MOTU Audio Engine shuts down, but can then be restarted and will work fine. Haven't noticed it lately, so it may be fixed, but there may be a bug in the MOTU Audio Driver. Never encountered the issue with my 828mkII.

It would seem that there's definitely a bug when using an audio source file other than what's on DP. My frustration was with the fact that all 30 of my other two 24io console channels were working flawlessly as always. Took me two days to figure it out and only because I just happened to boot up an MP3 work file I needed to hear via iTunes. Well at least we know where to look now.
