Finder Weirdness in 10.13.4

Since the most recent update on my MBP, I've been seeing a lot of strange things in the Finder. Holding off on updating the iMac until I can figure this out.
- Finder tells me a folder or server cannot be found because the original cannot be found, at the same time it is showing me the folder it cannot find and allowing access to the files.
- Finder freezes when simple moves or copies from one folder to another are attempted.
- Finder will not relaunch, or will not quit and after relaunch there will be two instance of the Finder running
- File management on servers or disks on other Macs gives frequent errors, "files not found" (which are shown in the Finder window), etc.

Restarting fixes these things, but even restarting is messy because the Finder interrupts the shutdown process.

Buggy apps are one thing, but a buggy Finder make a Mac a waste of space.

Mike, this post was a simple copy of a post I did some time ago. Probably done by a bot.

Anyway, I followed your advice at the time. As MLC suggested, it worked for a while, but things reverted back to weirdness after a day or so. 10.13.4 seems to be one of the releases that has to be restarted fairly often to remain stable. There is another 10.13 update coming and I hope that restores long term stability.

I wondered. Thanks for the heads up.

I hope that 10.13.5 restores the ability of my DisplayLink USB monitor to work. As of Beta 3, it hasn't. I have this 500G SSD I slip into my eSATA dock now and then to update the beta and check. Until that happens, I'm stuck at 10.13.3.

Yes, I could move to a 2011 or later but I don't want to for that as I'd rather save my nickels and dimes for a true upgrade later this year. My wife has offered to swap her 2011 for mine but it's an i5. Noooooo! Even with an SSD, it doesn't run DP as fast as my 2010. (2011 on has a pair of TB ports so 3 monitors is no problem).

eGPU functionality over Thunderbolt 1/2 hasn't come back either. Some card makers are going forward with drivers that restore that in case what happened with 10.13.4 was by design and not a bug — or so they say. We'll see.
