I'll wait until I can see the video. UVI provided this

I also got an email this morning that a new Falcon 1.5 was released.

Yep. Sorry, I don't pay much attention to Falcon news, because MachFive3.

For better or worse, Falcon goes way beyond Mach5 3. A massive beast compared to M5. Even more so with this update. ...so massive that I often just use Mach5 for basic nuts and bolts sample work

. In fact I wish UVI would give Falcon a utility-mode that's more like Mach5.

No doubt. But M5 does everything I need and want. Just sayin'

I got the email blast about Falcon 1.5 but not about UVI Workstation 3, so that's good to know.
I missed some promotionals during my first-in-five-years 2+ week vacation, some of which only lasted two or three days, such as the new UVI library for the Ensoniq ESQ-1. Oh well.
Hopefully these updates improve the Falcon workflow and performance to match that of UVI Workstation, which I sometimes have to load instead of Falcon due to some issues.
Overall, I still find Falcon a bit frustrating in terms of lack of intuitiveness in addressing global parameters as easily as in Kontakt or Engine or in even being aware of when they're set.
Of the three main non-proprietary sampling engines though (Play and Vienna Instruments do not support third-party libraries, and some of the others are primarily bound to specific DAW's), I feel Falcon/UVI Workstation is growing the most quickly in terms of features, audio quality, and libraries.

WHAT?! Falcon has flaws?! Who knew?

I read through it but when I tried to go to the UVI site, it wasn’t responding.
It looks like Falcon 1.5 is pretty powerful. I couldn’t find a reason to convince me that I need a copy, though.

The UVI site is iffy, which doesn't exactly build confidence in downloading the update, frankly. After about 10 tries I finally got in. In theory, it looks like a good update but I'll wait until the current project is in the can... (so to speak).

I used Mach5’s dead end roadmap as a reason to “upgrade” at the time I bought Falcon, but M5’s demise seems less certain now.

After downloading the update, I was disappointed to see that you still cannot save single presets, only multi presets. There has long been one of the things I do not like about UVI workstation.
I have tried workarounds but they do not work.
Yes, you can save a single sound in a multi preset and then save that multi. But then you cannot combine these. For example, if you modify preset one, save a multi with only that in it, and then do the same thing with preset two, you then can't combine these two different modified single presets. And when you load a multi preset, it does not give you the option to merge that multi with whatever is already there that you’ve previously loaded.
So that's one of the biggest bummers for me about UVI workstation, which I hoped they would have fixed in this new upgrade to version 3.
How do you guys save single presets?

I save multis per project and never use any kind of template or pre-edited material in my projects. Keeps things fresh.

But I see how that could be useful and didn't realize that was the case. The engine seems to be pretty easy on the CPU. The Plugsound Pro banks are decent enough and the X-TremeFX banks are also fun. I haven't tried many other available bundles. Any recommendations?

There are some great UVI sound banks I really love. Especially recommend you check out, among others, Retro Organ Suite, UVI String Machines, and the 3d party B-5 Organ. UVI's World Suite is also great.

Yeah, there's just no way to say, "lots of organs" without it sounding filthy.
Thanks for the link.
