Need to preserve original time stamp info on audio files

I am using Digital performer 7. A client is sending me audio files recorded on location that have time stamps info. When I import a file while previewing the soundbite info window, the original time stamp info shows a reading for a while then reverts to zeros. All I need to do is clean up the audio file and export it back with the same time stamp info, so that when the client imports the file back, they can have it readily in sync in their editing software. Is that Possible?

I don't think so. If you go to sound file information under the studio menu, you'll notice that the user time stamp is editable, but the original time stamp is not.

You could move the soundbite to the appropriate time and then use the merge soundbite command, forcing it it to place a new time stamp on it. Then export the merged soundbite. That might work.

Another work-around is to place the soundbite appropriately, then make a selection from time zero to the end of the soundbite. Merge and the resulting soundbite will have a start time of zero. At the other end, they can simply place all your soundbites at time zero.
