Removed DP 9.13 from hard drive..fixed some issues.

Here is a strange one - Since DP9 first came out, I've kept older DP versions on my drive
by re-naming them, in case I needed to revert to an older version. That has been no problem..
untl this week.

I noticed three days ago that I had both 9.5 and 9.13 running...because I had two DP icons in my
Dock, one labeled DP, the other DP 9.13. I closed the project that had somehow opened in 9.13, and
quit both DP 9.5 and DP 9.13. Then to satisfy my sudden curiosity, I deleted 9.13 (I still have it on a backup disk).

My issues with Slate VerbSuiteClassics (more than two instances causing DP Audio Performance meter to slam all the way to the red), stuttering audio when opening Amplitube 4 GUI's while playback is engaged, hiccups when saving-while-playing, and a number of other constant issues I've experienced since first version of DP 9, have all disappeared. Looking at my Effects Performance window in 9.5, overall CPU usage per effect instance has also gone down. My Audio Performance meter remains in the comfortable zone now.

I have no idea whether deleting DP 9.13 is the reason for this...just saying, these results happened right after I deleted it. May be a connection? Don't know for sure.

Very interesting. I'm going to try moving that to see if my occasional spikes go away!

Me too. Interesting. I wonder if it might have to do with where presets are stored for the plug in and the multiple versions of DP somehow create a conflict?

Things are interconnected. I ran the uninstaller on DP 7.24 a few days ago since it no longer works over 10.13. I had to reinstall 9 to make it work again (I expected this).

What is in DP 7 you can do in DP 9?

Nothing anymore. 32Lives made DP 7.24 unnecessary.

The reason I kept 7.24 on my iMac was for the occasional question we get now and then. Since it no longer authorizes in 10.13 with APFS (can't create or read the the Auth File from the CD), no reason to keep it. So I reclaimed the drive space.

Unlike 8–9. DP 7 has an Uninstaller in the drop-down menu. Although it's not supposed to remove shared libraries, it always does. Firing up DP 9 afterwards gave an error screen that many items could not be found.

Same thing happened when I uninstalled DP 5 and 6 a few years back. DP 7.24 and 8 gave me similar error screens and I had to reinstall both.

Since the different builds of 9 share libraries, I only needed to rerun the 9.5 installer to restore 9.02 and 9.13.

jeepers. If that actually cleans up the Slate VSC debacle, I will gladly delete 9.13.

You just deleted the app only correct David?

I have a tech link in about having both 9.5 and 9.13 installed at the same time. It seems to confuse macos 12 in deciding which one to show in the launcher. Maybe it is confused in other ways as it accesses the application.
