DP9.12 on Mac not recognizing Roland Quad-Capture

Hello.
I'm running Sierra 10.12.3 on an iMac Retina 5K, late 2015 using Digital Performer 9.12. Recently hooked up a Roland Quad-Capture. The DP sees the Quad, but will not shut down either the Output or Input internal speakers despite selecting the Quad. I followed the Roland instructions to the letter including installing the latest drivers, but in Dig Perf it does not give me options to output to the Quad which seems to be functioning just fine.
Any thoughts are appreciated. Had the same problem with Focusrite 2i2.
