Back to 9.02

After my initial elation with the new 9.13, I'm going back to 9.02.
After doing a whole project in 9.13, I find it is still really weird (for me) to use.
It still feels like the same problems when I tried 9.12.
The pre-gen thing names is still weird to use for me. It's not fluid and transparent like older versions of DP. It feels kind of "sticky".
I was psyched that I could get it down to 256 and have it feel like there was really zero latency, but when the project started to build, I had to bump it to 512 to avoid the processor peaking and the audio crackling.
Even at 512, it felt slow and not instantaneous.(switching record-enabled tracks for instance).
I'm on a new Mac Pro.
I hope this is not the future of DP...that they eventually work this out.

I hear and understand some of your issues, but I have to say on my MacPro, the latest version of 9.13 runs fine. The one thing that I did was completely uninstall DP, then installed the latest version. That made a world of difference on my rig's. If you haven't already, give that a try.

Maybe I have something set wrong, but I find 9.02 more convenient for smaller projects anyway. With 9.1/2/3 you can't turn off pre-gen so you can't ever audition notes by clicking on them unless the note's track is Record-enabled. Is that that everyone else's experience too?

So many things like that don't work without that preference.
Tempo changes aren't reflected in the Timecode window until you hit play.
A million other things.
How hard can it be to bring back the "turn-off-pre-gen globally" preference, what with all of this criticism.

I'm thinking the new pre-gen is so deeply baked into DP now that providing an off-switch may be harder than it seems. If it weren't I think MOTU would have done so. Or, since it seems that the majority of users aren't having issues it may just not be a priority?

Actually, I just noticed this behavior is corrected in 9.13 (72621). Tracks no longer need to be in Record in order to click-audition notes as it was in 9.1/2. This is a big, helpful change for me.

I too have gone back to 9.02. For about 30 min I thought 9.13 would be workable, but then testing revealed I just cant work in it without glitch-ing in a variety of scenarios. I have a feeling I will be at 9.02 until at least 10. Hope I’m wrong
