Hmmm, I followed the instructions. Installer disc followed by sound discs. Downloaded the update. MF3 not showing up in DP.

DP 7.24 on iMac with 10.11.6

What am I missing here?

Thanks!

Hmm... shooting in the dark here. I'm assuming you have license on iLok and latest iLok software installed. Does DP7 let you run in 64-bit mode? I don't remember? I do know that if perhaps you installed just the MAS version and you're running 64-bit, try installing the Audio Unit and see if that works.

Does the Standalone version work? If so, look in the DP preferences for Plugins and make sure MF3 is enabled.

DP 7.24 runs 32bit only so that's not an issue.

You need to go through two separate iLok authorizations during setup, one for M53 and another for the included UVI libraries,

When it was first released, there were problems with the libraries on the included DVDs. Many of us had to download and install them again before they worked—time consuming but easily done (and a bit weird that the build versions for UVI used the same numbers). In addition, the app and M53 libraries have been updated a few times and you might not have the current versions. Right now, some longtime users are thinking, "Oh yea, I remember that..."

As has been suggested, run the standalone first. If it works, you should be able to see it in DP following the instructions in the Help files.

If doesn't work in standalone, there may be an installation issue with OS 10.11. There are things to try if that's the case.

What BK said. Try standalone. Reinstall if necessary.

Thanks for the help.

MF3 wasn't checked for some reason in Preferences, so I checked the box along with MX4 (no wonder MX4 has been gone for so long!) Restart DP and upon startup it asked for code, when I enter it it says Code redemption limit has been reached, which is the same thing that happened in stand alone.

MF3 is in my iLok account, dongle is in, iLok License Manager shows Xtreme FX and MachFive3 as available. I bought MF3 straight from MOTU, sealed in cellophane, no one's grubby mitts have been on it but mine.

"Code redemption limit" is an iLok issue. Had you mentioned it in the OP, I would have answered differently.

You have to follow the activation instructions on the cards exactly and in order. They are different for Mach Five and the UVI libraries as are the cards.

Make certain that you have downloaded and installed the latest version of the iLok License Manager. The one on the M53 disk has been obsolete for a few years.

I'm following the instructions exactly...Redeem...go to Available...drag onto iLk. It says the "...iLok does not belong to you." This is just ridiculous.

Ridiculous or not, this is not a Mach Five issue. Google it and you will see more ProTools users with this issue than most others. You'll see other apps as well. The only thing they have in common is iLok.

If this doesn't help, call MOTU support on Tuesday. They will know what is supposed to be where more easily than PACE which doesn't have phone support as far as I know.

I had this issue many years ago and fixed it on my own. Other than pilot error, I don't recall what I did.
