DP and Live

Is there a way to use both Live from Ableton and DP9?
I can't figure it out. I know Rewire is supposed to do that but I didn't have the result I was looking for.
Any suggestions about how to set it up?

BUT,
It looks impossible to use the same plug or VI on the 2 programs at the same time??

Correct, ReWire sets up a slave and master relationship, Live is the slave and loses the ability to host VST/AUs. You can still use Live's built in plug ins though.
I wish ReWire wasn't Propellerhreads tech, it would be nice if something came out that simply locked transports as effectively as ReWire, and allowed audio tracks to tunnel between DAWs.

Thank you for that extra info. It helps me to understand better the Rewire concept. I'll have to find the best way to use the features of Live with DP.
