A way to edit the Volume in seq view by default?
To me, the only place I know to edit/view volume automation for tracks is the sequence view, but I have to right click add-volume everytime for a new track in order to edit/view its volume automation, is there a way to do that by default?

I'm not sure how you're doing this. Where do you right-click to add volume automation to a track?

Just right click on the contents of track, insert volume then I can edit volume.Phil O wrote:I'm not sure how you're doing this. Where do you right-click to add volume automation to a track?

What about Grouping the tracks and checking Set Active Layer in the group Custom dialog ?

I think you've pointed out a slight weakness in the new "Lanes" feature. It would be nice if there were a "Lanes Setup," that works like Automation Setup, with defaults and overrides for what is normally set up to view/record for any/all tracks. I like Lanes very much as they are, but that would make them a lot better, IMO.rockman413 wrote:It works, but not for new tracksreedster wrote:What about Grouping the tracks and checking Set Active Layer in the group Custom dialog ?

If no volume or other data exists your options are to insert, as you described, paste a volume value, or... drum roll please... have the default for the pencil tool be cc#7. Then click the "p" key. The cursor becomes a pencil and you can click in the continuous data area w/the value you desire.
