Another DP9 bug when applying plug-in??

Duplicate a track where you have a short sounbite. Select the copy, and apply a plugin offline, like an EQ (Waves Q4).

The resulting processed sounbite will be ahead by MANY samples. Depending on the tempo, it can be as much as a 16th note (compare to the original).
If it's a rhythmic thing, it will be obvious, and that's how I realized this.

I've been doing this for ages, and never noticed what I just mentioned, or if it also happens with other plugins... Yesterday I was against the clock and didn't check if this also happens with compressors, etc.

Needless to say, this could potentially cause problems down the line and it must absolutely be fixed ASAP! :smash:

At first I thought it could be a phase issue (I understand this is normal in non-linear phase EQs), but I don't think so... The missalignment seems to be too much for this.

Can any body reproduce this and confirm? Than you!

Sounds more like the calculation of delay within the plug...

I wasn't able to reproduce this. Could it be a Waves thing? (I don't have Waves installed.) Did you try this with MOTU plug-ins? I tried it with MOTU Trim, Sonalksis Free G, and Stillwell Rocket on a roughly 4 second long soundbite. All worked fine.

Ditto. And no Wavey stuff here either. Waves must face!

Thank you for trying this, guys.

Glad to see you are not able to duplicate this problem.

I was against the clock and didn't have time to test it further. On Monday I will try plugins other than Waves. It always seems to be Waves...

Also Waves plugins keep showing non-sensical arbitrary values when editing manually. Hmmmm...

Waves bye-bye.
