828mk3 hybrid question... Synths->Mic inputs?

Hi,

Probably quite a simple question.... My set up is all synths and I want to use all the inputs that I can simultaneously. I read in the manual for my 828mk3 hybrid...

"Do not connect a +4 (line level) XLR cable to
the front-panel inputs (because of the preamps).
Use a rear-panel quarter-inch input instead."

Now, all I want to know is: can I use these front panel mic/instrument inputs with unbalanced 1/4 inch jacks from normal synths (perhaps my eurorack) without breaking from intended function? If I set the trim for these inputs to 0db and keep the input volume low then they are just as "good" as the rear panel inputs for synths?

Make this simple for me! ;-)

Cheers, David

Yes, using quarter-inch unbalanced plugs with those is fine, and you can use it for synths by backing off the trim on the Inputs tab to minus -24db (or even -12 will likely do) before you plug it in. Make sure that setting carries over into all your saved configs, of course.

Thanks, Terry,

Forgot to check back for a reply until now, but cheers, that's exactly what I wanted to know.
