Hello all,

I have been struggling to make this work but have not had success. I am trying to use the old original 2408 (Mrk 1?) in standalone mode to run the output from the ADAT into the tdm1000 via TDIF. Currently, I am running the optical out/in from the ADAT to optical in/out A ON THE 2408. I am connected via TDIF on the B connector on the 2408 to the TDIF connector on the TDM1000. I have a Wordclock Cable from word clock out on the 2408 to Wordclock in on the TDM1000. I have been trying to run the 2408 as master and TDM1000 as slave but not sure. Perhaps the 2408 needs to be slave to ADAT. There is no Wordclock out on the ADAT and no ADAT sync on the 2408.

I anyone has done this before can you do me the great favor of helping me out with this and tell me how to make this work...before I lose the rest of my hair.

Cheers and thank you,

Dave

I don't remember that the original 828 functions in standalone mode (unlike the mkII and mkIII, Hybrid, x and the 2408 series).

Here is the original 828 manual for Win. Searching it, I don't see standalone—not in the Mac version either.

Hopefully, someone will correct me on this and help you.

I used to do something similar with my 1st version 2408. Never used a Word Clock cable.
