Hi,

I'm trying to run Kontakt 2 on my G5 Dual 2.5, either in or outside of DP 4.52. I was running four instances of 1.53 as plugins within DP. I buy K2 thinking I'll only need one instance now (it has 4 MIDI ports), only to find out that if you run it as a plugin it will only give you 16 MIDI channels. So I tried four instances of K2 and my G5 Dual 2.5 almost falls over and maxes out whenever I try to play back any samples. I then tried to run it as standalone and can't play back more than 32 voices without getting cpu crackles. Has anyone got a similar setup as mine and if so have you got it working? I'm having to go back to 1.53.

I don't have a G5- (I have a G4 dual 1.25 ghz.2 GB RAM OSX10.39) I'm having basically the same problem. When I try to run Kontakt 2 as a stand alone I get crackling. When I run inside of DP 4.52 the crackling goes away. I haven't pushed it as much as you have. Another thing I noticed was slower loading times
compared to Kontakt 1.53, especially with large piano libraries.

Have either of you updated to Kontakt 2.01 which is available on the NI website? It makes a world of difference. It fixes a heapload of problems. Incidentally, if you are in version 2.0, you have to uncheck Multiprocessor support in Options. When you upgrade, that feature will be fixed. Unchecked makes the program practically useless.

Yes, I have v. 2.01 and it still doesn't work properly as a standalone.

I went back to Kontakt 1.5 after suffering many crashes with Kontakt 2.0 (with update)...using DP4.52. Same crashes seen with Ableton Live 4.1...so the problem may not be DP.

Yes, Andy. I have problems with Kontakt 2.0.1 In fact I've seen your similar posts at the Kontakt forum (I thought you might be a friend of mine named Andy Brick). Anyway, I have used both on a project and as long as I used Kontakt 2 only for the Akkord guitar (the only thing I really like in the new version, although I do like it) everything seems to run OK. But NI dropped the ball on this one.

I've just installed Kontakt 2 (on my dual 2 ghz running DP4.52 with Tiger) and I can't get Kontakt to appear in the AU menu... it has "passed the AU examination" but I can't see it.

Reaktor 4 does appear (funnily, in some projects it will appear in a "Native Instruments" submenu and in other projects it appears on its own as "Reaktor MFX"

What am I missing here?

I have Kontakt 2. I was dissapointed I couldn't take advantage of the multiple outs due to DPs AU support.

I have settled with using Kontakt 2 as a stereo instrument for percussion or random instruments i will use then freeze and move on.

Not the best use of such a great application. I actually ended up buying Mach Five cause it had multiple outs and played nicely with DP. Now my work flow is "normal."

Solved install probs. Kontakt 2.0 running nicely now (expect for the lack of multiple outs which is no small thing!)

Gspin: What did you do on your install--I have Garritan Personal Orchestra and Kontakt 2 and all are greyed out?

Anybody else having problems with "stuck keys" or just me? Any solution?
