Hi
All suggestions gratefully received.
Many moons ago I transferred all my Seidzlak (wrong spelling) Advanced Orchestra Disks to Mesa files stored on hard disk to speed up access. this saved programs and Samples (aif) into different folders. I've since sold my CD Roms. Now I want to transfer to Mach5 I can copy the samples across no problem but the programs wont read!Do I really have to remap everything...I thought the wheel had already been invented...!
Any advice anyone?

Hello
So, have you loaded the samples/presets into M5 at all ?? Are these samples/presets currentely stored in your M5 folder with the correct .M5b extension for all soundbanks and .M5p for all presets ?? If so, you may want to re select the M5 sound folder.
Oh.. and can you clarify "copy .. across"? I am not sure if you mean to the hard drive or to the Mach Five.

Hi
Wow California.....it's raining here!
I backed up all Akai S3000XL programs and samples using Mesa software on a standard Mac data disk (had a lovable 9600 with sampler attached via SCSI). Now on G4 with Mach 5 and no SCSI. Mach 5 will read the aif files but doesnt seem to recognise the prg files, cant find a MESA tab in UVI extract. Mach 5 cant seem to see MESA programs at all. The Akai tabs in Mach 5 only read AKAI format CD Roms. Also there doesnt seem to be any way of getting the old snail pace MIDI prg/sample dump into Mach 5, usually a last resort...any ideas?

So, you want to use samples that you don't own anymore? maybe you should buy the discs back, and you won't have any issues.
What's with people buying sample libraries, copying them, then selling the originals? This is no different than simply pirating them in the first place...
And we call ourselves creators of intellectual property?
What a double standard we live by.

Hi
Bit of an assumption on your part Jeremy and mildly offensive. I dont have the time or energy to relay to you the circumstances of the situation. Suffice to say everybody this end is well and healthy now.
For anyone else genuinely interested in this particular topic I solved the problem by:
Transfering MESA progs and samps from the old 9600 hard drive to the Akai 3000, then saving onto a scsi zip disk, that disk was then put into a usb zip disk attached to the G4. Mach 5 then treats this disk in the same way as Akai CD rom.
