DP9 HATES MachFive.... [sigh]

I was hoping the newest DP build would alleviate some of the issues I've been having with DP and MF, but if anything, it made things worse!
Yesterday night was crash fest gallore. Literally a crash every 5 minutes... When browsing, when editing, when moving a knob. I simply powered everything down on frustration.
MachFive will crash DP as a direct VI, and it also crashes VE Pro as easily if I try hosting ir there (MAS version).
I did all the usual troubleshooting steps to no avail.
The worst thing is that, when it crashes, it just gives me the stupid beachball and stays spinning. I have to force quit both, DP and VE Pro. It doesn't even give me the chance to send the crash report to MOTU.
So this version is worse than before for me. It's so crashy it's unusable.
When will MOTU FIX DP and MachFive? I mean, it's their own software.. How can I expect it to run 3rd party VIs?

This is making me very moody and frustrated.

I feel your pain. Have you tried disabling VE PRO? I know it should work, but since we are all beta testers now, maybe you can eliminate what is causing the problem. I didn't update to the newest "build" (that's a new paradigm...) because it's all working. M5 is solid (I just did five projects w/o a single issue) so I'd suspect VE Pro.
Delete M5's plists, BTW, and repair permissions if you haven't already. DP updated are particularly sensitive to that! Unless you;re on El Cap, of course, in which case you're on your own! LOL

FM, you really should check out UVI Falcon. All my M5 projects have converted to it without a single issue, multis and programs just load right in and work and I like the interface improvements.
I think M5 is dead. Others here have speculated on that and recently I was watching a Simon Stockhausen video about using Falcon and he referred to "the old MachFive".

I don't use VE, am on El Cap with the latest build of DP and am not having this problem with MachFive.
Not all of my UVI libraries load in MV3, however. For Retro Organs Suite and others, I need to use the free UVI player.
Repairing permissions is very easy in OS 10.11. I've posted it many times now and, yes, it should be done.
Apple's Disk Utility is not just bad. It's outdated and broken. I had dinner with an Apple engineer last night and got an earful on that subject. Don't know if it will be fixed in the next release.

I really need to get onboard with that.

Thanks, Mike. I hadn't thought about doing that to MF. I'll try it tonight. Otherwise, I'll have to go back to the previous build of DP9, which is slighlty less crash-prone, but is still crashes DP (when the original build crashes, at least you can send the report to MOTU.

Thanks, Leigh. I definitely will check it out. It would be a shame to let MF go because I really love it (when it works), but if it keeps crashing, I'll kill MF and say hello to Falcon.
The good thing is that I understando they are REALLY similar, correct? So similar to feel right at home with Falcon?

I'm using Falcon 1.0.6 with DP9.02 under 10.11.3 and any crashing I have comes from DP9.02.
You will be so glad to get Falcon. M5 feels cramped and clunky to me now. I think the new interface makes dealing with the complexity much, much easier.
