MIDI express xt---USB device not found

Hello and welcome to my nightmare.
I am slaved to my motu MIDI express XT USB (latesr). It's lost communication with windows 7.
I Uninstaller the software/drivers and have attempted to reinstall many time after receiving 'no USB device found' and 'this device did not install correctly'. It seems 5heres remnants of corrupted software or drivers still in the system. I've tried various reg clean products.
Microsoft has clean up tools for Microsoft software just for this type of problem. I'm wondering if motu has anything of the sort. I left a message with them a week ago with no answer. Until I get a fresh install of the software I'm dead in the water. Only thing left is to reinstall windows. I don't think so. Motu has to have an answer for this.
