DP crashing when changing meter in conductor track

Post by ccjones87 »

I'm trying to change the meter for a couple of measures. The moment I push "change," in the dialog box, DP crashes immediately. Anyone else have this issue or know of a good workaround?

Just tried disabling the v-rack and that seemed to prevent the crash initially (as I could input one meter change), but when I tried to add another meter change, the same crash happened. I need to have a 6/4 measure followed by a 2/4 measure for a project on a deadline. Any help would be very appreciated!

I haven't done that recently, so I can't verify whether it's a reproducible bug in DP 9.01, but it's certainly not normal behavior for past versions of DP. I have one suggestion that might help: LOAD your sequence(s) into a new, blank file. The Load command is under the File menu. Be sure to bring in all the applicable data that you need. (read the dialog, set it carefully)

Once you've got essentially the same file, renewed in a new framework, try the same process.

Are you synced to any other devices? Timecode? If so, disable that while editing the conductor track. Do you have custom clicks? You might turn off custom clicks while editing the conductor track. I don't know if this could cause a conflict; I'm just throwing out ideas.

Keep us informed. Maybe some clues will emerge.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue. I can't think of anything that may cause it.

Just FWIW, DP9.01 with Yosemite works perfectly here. All my projects require constant meter and tempo changes, and I've never seen any related problems.

Have you tried reinstalling DP?
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

Hey guys. Big thank you for all your feedback. It seems to have been a random hiccup. I was able to make the meter changes needed after simply stepping away from my machine for a while. Magic? Magic.  :banghead:

Glad to hear it's running smoothly for you. 99% of the time it's smooth sailing over here. Didn't think to try a re-install. I'll try that as soon as this project is wrapped.

Will certainly try opening it using load once I've got a little more time, as well as disabling the parameters you suggested. I'm super curious as to what may have caused it...
