MIDI controller setting help...

I am trying to figure out what is resetting my virtual instruments to full volume when I start and stop playback on a sequence. I have not created any volume automation...simply recording a MIDI performance from a controller keyboard that is only sending on/off and sustain values. I'll go to the controls of the VI, and adjust the volume down, but it jumps to full soon as I start playback.

Set the volume using DP's mixing board faders instead. Those values are being sent whenever you push play.

Happens here too. In another thread, the solution offered was to turn MIDI event chasing off, which worked, but I need event chasing

In my case, it's not every VI, only a few.. Omnisphere and Arturia come to mind..

Kontakt has a setting in INSTRUMENT OPTIONS that says "Accept Standard Controllers for Volume and Pan". I can't remember if checking or unchecking is what sorts it. But if Kontakt is the VI, that's one thing to look at.

It's kind of an important solution if you are running multiple tracks into Kontakt and they are all sharing the same DP mix slider. With that fix, you can use the volume controls for each instrument loaded into kontakt, separately.

Hi, I've just developed the same problem, vol-full pan-12 o'clock whenever Play is pressed. This happens to most of my plugs but not all. Ivory & EZDrums are immune. All Spectrasonic, Kontakt, & MOTU VI's are affected. I recently bought a new iMac i7 4.0Ghz, OSX 10.10.5 DP9.01. The solution with MIDI faders is a work around in the mean time BUT many DP users, myself included, have NEVER used MIDI faders, EVER! I regularly exclude them from my mixer cause it's too damn many faders! We adjust our VI's all the time, and that's where we set vol & pan, not with a MIDI fader. I need a solution that doesn't involve altering the way I've worked with DP since day 1. I have a call into tech support and they are going to get back to me. When I find out I will post their results. I know it's not the keyboard controller, (still did it with it unplugged). Might be an iMac problem? Any help would be appreciated.

How odd, I'm having the exact opposite problem  I'm losing about 6 to 10db's on playback, unless I insert a cc07 in the beginning of the MIDI track into Kontakt ( current).

When recording its at regular volume/ velocity of the tracks slider ?

Maybe you are turning up the VI's volume (rather than turning it down). When DP resets the volume, you lose some gain?

yes sir, loosing gain on DP reset ( start from beginning beat 1)- I have Kontakt defaulted to -6, and DP sends it -12 or there abouts, unless I insert a cc07 in the MIDI track.

Will check all my pref's and automation set up I read about on the other thread(s).
