Sample Rate error

This is getting annoying. Lately every time I load a project (not every one), the sample rate displayed in the control panel is flashing: red 44.1 kHz and white 48 kHz.
Image
I go into setup/hardware, it's set to 48 kHz. I'm only using one device which is the 828MkII and it's indicating 48 kHz. Once I've clicked ok here, the flashing goes away. I save the project, exit, reload and it's there again.

I've been in Audio/MIDI setup and all devices are set to 48 kHz.

This happens even with projects having MIDI only, external only instruments.
I've exhausted my knowledge on what to try next.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'd start by deleting the "MOTU Audio System Prefs" and maybe the DP preferences as well. Make sure DP is not running or it will save the preferences that existed when the app launched.

Doesn't that usually happen when you have multiple audio files in the project folder which have been recorded at different sample rates?

Look in the Soundbites Window and see if there is any disparity among sample rates. If so, you might convert the "wrong" ones to the rate you're currently using. If they are literal duplicates, but at a different sample rate, you may throw out the wrong ones. Be sure the right ones are still there. I'd do all this after backing up the project folder. Once done to satisfaction, back it up again and toss the previous backup.

Yeah, I'd understand that, but (as I said) it's happening on MIDI only projects. I think I finally solve this - see a later post in this thread.

I think I've finally solved this little bugger. As it turns out, I had a bluetooth device (clock radio/speaker) that was configured under bluetooth devices. This device only supported 44.1.
Even though I have never selected it in DP's Hardware Setup, it must have been "confusing" DP at random times (go figure). I removed the device from the bluetooth setup and the problem has not occurred again.

Thank you for reporting back. Whoda thunk it.

Wow... that's pretty random! Glad you found it, and you also made me realize that answers may sometimes be far afield. You just have to keep thinking and trying things.

I discovered this thread because I'm having a similar problem. I'm running DP9 on a somewhat older MBP (the last 17" intel model i5) but it's certainly at 64 bit and was recently updated to 10.13.6.

I actually haven't done much music work with this computer for quite a while because I was using newer MBP's for live gigging and haven't had much time to do any of my own home recording. I've clung to this computer because it has the expresscard slot that allows me to continue using my UAD plug-ins with the old UAD Solo Laptop device. I know my current audio files are 48k and all my options are set to 48k.

As seen in this thread, the only bluetooth device is a mouse but I haven't tried to load or start a project that is only MIDI recently, I'll see what happens with that. I sure hope it's not my UAD plug-ins or device but I'll try with that disconnected also to see if that's a cause. Thanks for putting this thread up there and if any other new ideas are out there please take a minute and let me know.
