Anyone using USB 3 and older Mac Pro(2010) for audio

I'm thinking of getting a USB 3 PCIe card for my Mac Pro. It would be for connecting USB 3 drives for recording and playback of audio. Any issues with USB 3 for this purpose? I have been using Firewire so far, but Firewire drives are not available locally, everything is USB 3 and cheaper then ordering Firewire drives online.

There are no compatability issues with eSATA and it's just as fast if using mechanical HDs — faster if using SSDs and an eSATA III card.

Sonnet for sure! if you want both eSATA and USB3 then the extra scrub might be worth it for this one.
