Please give me some info on this

Mach 5 is like a gateway into the sampling universe.
It's compatibilty is vastl:
••• old and new Mac/PC operating systems
••• audio file formats (aiff,wav,SD)
••• Soundbank formats (akai, roland, emu, emagic, giga, creamware,sampecell, )
••• sample formats (kurweil, akai mpc, creamware, wav, aif, acid, SD, Rex)
••• channel formats (mono, stereo, 5.1)
•••plug-in formats(mas,vst,rtas, htdm, au, dxi)

I'm about a week into Mach 5.
I was up and running shortly after installation. (sample playback with MIDI tracks. I'm saving the sample editting experiments for later.) A few days later, I successfully and easily used UVI-Xtract to import a Steinway Grand in Akai format...after a long, hard day at work with dwindling cognitive resources left for concentration. I was amazed!!!

I'm guessing that most peope (who have extensive sample libraries in various formats, or who plan to buy an extensive collection of sounds) buy M5 because it is the gateway...rather than for it's supplied sample library.

At this point I am quiet happy with the supplied sample library. (I only own two sample CDs because I have used hardware modules for years. My first soft sampler was the humble but mighty VSamp. )

M5 provides the user with awesome capability.

I started sampling many years ago when the Ensoniq Mirage was the Cat's Pajamas. Also used a number of EPS Sampleers and EMU products.

But for sound, ease of use, convenience, library, features and integration, NOTHING comes close to MachFive. Or DP for that matter.
