You are not the first to experience this with Waves and DP

There's a conflict somewhere.

odd , it works fine on my desktop same exact specs! Must be some file I need to trash but I don't see any Motu plist anything anywhere - also people keep saying go to : Library / Prefs / Digital Performer or Motu .... but I don't see any digital performer folder anywhere

thanks!

You need to look in your User Library and NOT the Library at the root level of your hard drive.
In the Finder, click on the Go menu and press down the alt key - you will see the user Library appear in the list of Go menu items. Select Preferences from that user library and then scroll down to com.motu to see all the MOTU prefs...

PS - if you haven't already done so, I suggest you repair permissions on your system drive. This cures many evils, particularly after installing anything.

Is there some specific file I need to delete in User Library? Repairing Permissions did nothing ...
- BTW , I opened Garageband by Magic Dave's suggestion and all of the Waves plugs work so this is a problem specific to DP ....thanks for the help! :banghead:

Previous threads on this subject indicate that there's a conflict. Unfortunately, it is hard to say that any one plug is the culprit except Waves. These threads go back years, mostly with DP 7.x.

One thread ID'd a conflict with an old version of the UVI player – updating to the current version fixed it.

Do a search on Mas , 0 error on these boards and see if those threads give any more clues. I didn't spend very much time looking at them.

You do know that this is an OS error you are seeing, right? DP is not generating it. -10875 {-10875} doesn't show up anywhere in any set of Apple error codes that I can find. A Google search directs to MOTUNation and threads about Waves. You might ask them about it.

Open a Console window and see what happens. Something else may be trying to load.

nothing in Console window -

Also - pretty sure if the Waves plugs work in Garageband , then it's DP specific right? I even thought of copying all the files on my desktop in library to see if there is a conflicting file on macbook -

thanks

And thank you for reporting back what the problem was.

So often the help request gets posted and we never find out what, if anything, worked.

to be more succinct , there was a Waves file in the user Library / Mas folder .

Every now and then I get a similar error message for my waves plugins at boot up of DP9. Seems to happen randomly and I usually try a bunch of things but its never clear what eventually resolves it - seems inconsistent (or I just don't know what I'm doing!).

When it occurred again today I found this thread. I didn't find a waves file in the user library so I opened up waves license manager (Waves Central) and sent my licenses to my computer instead of the iLok. This resolved the issue (for now at least). Its strange though because my iLok manager was indicating there were no waves licenses on the iLok - despite me choosing iLok as the install option for my wave plugs.

Thanks
James

IIRC, Waves stopped using iLok some time ago.
