All of a sudden now Mach 5 see's the Mach 5 sound folder and presets, but when I try to load any preset I get:
Cannot find path soundbank/samples/piano........
Any suggestions?
I trashed the Mach5 prefs already, but no luck so far.

have you changed the folders, or anywhere that the samples reside in?

Nope, the only thing I did was add newly converted Wav. samples to the folder. I removed them, but still no luck.

have you double checked you didn't remove the wrong .wavs? and done the usual trash prefs, so it rescans for your folder?
not being sarcastic - half the time i miss the most obvious things

Yes I have, and I'm now going to just try reinstalling all my samples again.

This "can't find the samples" error is what makes my sphincter dance when I think of converting over from Unity to MachFive.
... which I'll be doing tomorrow. Takin' the plunge. Anyone have similar problems? My buddy Jeff just told me how he's already had to reimport his whole library once.
Does dragging a backup of the entire library bypass this problem? Will MachFive be able to restore from the backup or will it give you "can find the samples" errors from the restored backup? Can anyone provide some info on this subject?
Thanks.

dtobocman,
What I ended up doing was taking the M5 sounds folder and dragging it onto 1 of my bootup drives (firewire) partitions.
Now M5 sees all samples. This is still not cool for me because I had a drive dedicated to samples only, and it worked that way just fine until a few day's ago......All that said, I'm still not sure if it's a M5 problem, or a corrupted pathway issue with my hard drive.

(This is the actual reply, sorry, I accidently cut & pasted the other person's original question)
I had success with the "can't find samples" message after I got rid of a slash "/" character in the folder's name.

This seems to be a pretty common mistake for long-time Mac users.
A good rule of thumb is to avoid using characters in names that look like old DOS command line stuff (e.g., $, /, *, etc.). Much of that directory/shortcut business was appropriated from early UNIX -- as was, I think, much of what evolved into OSX code via NeXT.

I copied my Mach five sounds folder to a new drive and 95% of the samples can't be found no matter what I do.. Any suggestions about how to fix this?
Thanks!
