Just saw a note in Friday's E.C. users report at Macintouch. One poster mentioned that MenuMeters doesn't work with 10.11. I don''t use MM, but I know some Nationers do, so I'm posting a link noted by the MiT poster...

Sounds like much of the stuff I use is not working. Interesting.

Assuming the developers of various software have not ceased developing, there should soon be fixes for nearly everything. I'm hoping that the problem with MenuMeters is merely a procedural one, which can be easily corrected by changing some code. From what I've read, with Apple locking up more parts of the OS to prevent interlopers from depositing hostile code where it can do harm, I'm a little worried that items which display in the menubar may have real problems getting back in. But surely Apple can't lock developers out of the menubar. That would have serious consequences on nearly every app out there. Not to mention everything from Adobe to Dropbox to QuicKeys and others which display global icons with menus in the menubar.

Surely it's an easy fix, and we'll see an update soon.

I have some apps that display fan speeds and the like. These are working fine in 10.11.

I don't see why Menu Meters can't be fixed. No doubt they put system files where Apple won't let them anymore. Apple now limits those files to four places. It should be pretty simple.

Unsigned .kxt files shouldn't be an issue or it wouldn't have worked in Yosemite.

...or where Apple has told them not to put them in the first place. Many developers choose not to strictly follow Apple's guidelines and it comes back to bite them later. I find it interesting that I'm still using Elemental Audio's XL plugins (via 32Lives) in El Capitan and they're all working. That must be some well written code! They weren't working for a while and I thought it was the end, but a 32Lives update fixed that. :D

It comes back to bite us. One way or another it bites.
