Caught part of the Keynote.

iOS 9 will be released next week. If it reduces battery consumption as is hinted, that will be good.

The new iPad … I have wanted this for 2 years, now. It's how I read music while performing – page turns with my thumb. Bigger is better. Someone should have a music app soon enough that works with the new stylus.

I will get an iPhone 6S in February. The new camera looks spiffier than the last. I don't understand why the iPad camera is never as good. Oh well.. lots of other features that do nothing for me, I can wait.

I see no reason to get an Apple Watch even with the new OS.

Ipad Pro. Me want! Interested in the pencil and if there's a music app in the works that can send XML files. Maybe Make Music will finally develop an app...? Thanks Mike.

I'm ordering the 6s. I'm also keeping an eye on the iPad Pro and see what apps might be of value.

On a side note...I play piano 3 nights a week in an upscale steakhouse here in Houston. (#3 in the U.S. according to Food Network.)

Lots of business folks midweek on nice expense accounts. I've not yet seen an Apple Watch gracing any wrists of these well-heeled patrons.

Just an observation!

I've seen quite a few, but not on people who know how to manage money.

Not the same situation here in the heart of the silicon valley.

In other Apple news... CEO Tim Cook is changing the first initial of his last name from 'C' to 'K' as this is what he will be known as, for specifically pushing forward with novelty tech that Jobs knew was not for Apple or what Apple was about. From leading in tech ingenuity to Dick Tracy copycat, definitely practicing that who one step forward, two steps back philosophy. Stylus?!? Seriously! Watch?!? I've got 5,000 clocks available on my phone, which I can barely read and now I can run them on an even smaller screen. No thanks!

What's next, naming Bill Gates or Steve Ballmer as CEO?

Since the stylus is designed to work with the new iPad, I don't think it's a bad idea.

As I am someone who won't be likely to purchase that due to my handicap, I am glad it will be optional. Or I might see a use for me and then it will be available. gtlad I will have the choice.

As for the watch...

The stylus is expensive but a good stylus is hard to come by. I've tried a few, including some pricier models, and they're OK, but not quite there. Apple has been able to show how to do it properly in the past, with smart phones and tablets, and if they can do the same with a stylus, that's great.

But the watch is just weird.

Silicon Valley? Hmm...

Is that the low-lying area between Twintitty Peckers... I mean, Peaks, Mike?

Sorry. Carry on.

Been messing around with iOS 9 today on an iPad 2. Not all of the shiny new features will work on all hardware, and it can take some digging to find all the compatibility configurations. One feature that is supposed to work on my iPad is the Spotlight search in app feature, which, for the life of me, won't work. I updated the apps that are supposed to feature this deep linking, but still no go. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, and I can't find any help with the Googler. I can still search within the Apple apps. Perhaps I just need to be patient and give it time to index?
EDIT
Just read an article that said CoreSpotlight is not supported on iPad 2, but I'm not sure, because these searches seem to be supported in the Settings>General>Spotlight Search prefs.

I'm fooling around with it on my iPad 5 (Air) and iPhone 5S. Don't know that the keyboard font is easier to read but it is different.

Some of the apps like Notebook need me to be running El Capitan on my iMac before it makes sense to allow them to upgrade.

So far, it's looking ok to me.
