bouncing, jumpy meters in mix window (8.07)

Hi all.

I've sent this issue to the motu-mac yahoo group and although everyone was wicked helpful, I wasn't able to solve the issue.

See here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dYXj24wATU

I'm using a Metric Halo MIO 2882 that is connected via ADAT to a Behringer ADA8000. These jumpy meters happen even when the Behringer is disconnected, however. It also happens at any buffer setting I try.

I sent this issue to the Metric Halo users group and BJ (head of Metric Halo) suggested that this is MOTU's issue.

There are no clicks/pops in the audio and I find it very odd that the meters continue to jump even with no audio playing (i.e. the Analog 1 and 2 outs that you see in the Audio Monitor). It's odd enough that it's happening at all but even with no audio? And there's nothing audible in my monitors?? I'm flummoxed.

Any clues before I send this to Motu?

Many thanks.

My first guess is there's a very high or very low frequency signal being generated by one of the audio boxes, or maybe the combination of the two if there is a timing mismatch.

Can you see the same thing happening in other audio applications that have meters on the primary inputs?
