Quantize attacks and releases to force legato

Hello there,
I have a question on how to quantize properly a passage. When I select the notes and I select "Attacks" and "Releases", and "Don't Change Durations" is unchecked, some notes become really short and there is a gap between the notes. What I want is to quickly quantize the passage to be a series of eighth notes, all of the same length, and with the releases ending where the attack of the next note starts (in a "force legato" manner) but for some reason I never manage to do that.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!

You can force legato with the Duration command, after you quantize to eighth notes.

Thanks bayswater i tried that in the past, but it doesn't eliminate the problem that some notes become really short (like a dot in the piano roll) when I quantize the passage, even if the duration is set to eighth notes almost as if the quantization adjusted the release or the attack and reduced the note to make beginning and ending coincide.

It sounds like you have some notes that are already very short -- less than a 1/16, so when you quantize the durations to 1/8, they go essentially to zero length, or 1 tick? You can turn off release in the quantize window altogether and force them to legato in Durations.
