Show and Hide Takes

I have a dozen tracks each with 6-8 takes. I set some easy to remember Key Commands for Show and Hide takes while comping them.
The drop down menus are working fine for Show Takes and Hide Takes, but the Key Commands only appear to work on the track that happened to be selected when I created the Key Command. No matter what track is selected, when I use the key command, the takes are shown and hidden for that one track.
I have to assume this is not the way it is supposed to work. (this is happening in DP 9.)
(and while I'm at it, shouldn't there be one key command instead of two? One command to "Toggle show/hide takes" for the selected tracks, rather than one command to show and another to hide.)
