Insert volume bug in DP 9 - [refined]

Reinstalled DP9 and thought i had gotten rid of this bug by using the installer disc, but it was not to be.
It seems that is I use the dropdown in the SE to INSERT VOLUME I get a crash, but I can use the pencil tool and it works.
Clearly, this is a fairly repeatable bug and I've reported it every time to MOTU via the crash reporter. I'm feeling a DP 9.01 coming on...

I, the poster child for "It isn't happening here," am thrilled to finally be able to say:
Yep. Got exactly the same results. Pull-down menu, Insert -> Volume, gave me the pencil, blew up as soon as I tried to place the node.
This is a for-real bug. Seriously, this is a big moment for me.

Finally got the disc. Application build number is the same as the download version (66544). Three downloads and a dvd install, and I can confirm this still exists.

I'm not seeing it here. I wonder if it's a consolidated windows thing (which I'm not using).

Starting a new topic. Realized this is NOT what caused the bad file, but I am still getting INSERT crashes.
