I use Mach 5, love it.

I also use a hardware sampler (K2000) and love that too.

i think it's all about the quick relase of ones ideas, once
things get in the way and slow you down, u might just lose it.
like spending 2 hours just building a kit, or mapping out keys,
or truncating samples in that akai/asr/emu sampler/ or your local dual taco stand.
...
:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

I like Mach Five. Don't have a hardware sampler.

Pretty good, but kind of buggy.
Sometimes it crashes DP.

I use M5 a lot- also atmosphere, I use it a lot- I have garritan but I don't like it too much (its kinda wimpy) - I'd rather use the string pads from my roland synth or the atmosphere strings. I have DFHS but have never gotten it to work right with DP so I kinda quit on it ($300 down the drain) should have gotten stylus instead-

I have a good library built up for M5- I am looking forward to Motu's string instrument- hopefully be way better than garritans

Have M5 - apart from a few buggy bits I am very happy with it. Have to say that I really do enjoy Garritan as well - nice for orchestral stuff.

Machfive is an excellent softsampler, with some fairly aggravating bugs, depending on your demand of the VI.

I'm in a neighborhood, creatively, where I'm doing a crapload of composing and sound designing, but also developing a sampling archive library formatted for Machfive. On that note, I'd say if you're using it on a simple, sample playblack level, it's pretty damn solid. On the other hand, if you're interested in deep strides of dragging, dropping and editting, you'll find yourself wanting to put proverbial .45 barrel on the roof of your mouth.

A little tempermental at times, but other times utterly indisposable. Its capabilities can be amazing when things are running smoothly. The downside is that some projects may end up being dominated by MachFive because of its flexibility. Then, should something go wrong, you have nothing but tears. Depending on your system, expect a problem about three or four times a year. That said, I have to say I love it.
