MIDI Edit in the MIDI Editor bug

Before I send it in can anyone confirm that MIDI Edit isn't working in the MIDI Editor in DP9? It works fine in the SE. You can get it to work in the ME only if you first do an edit using MIDI Edit in the SE and then switch to the ME. Is this the same for everyone? Thx.

I haven't come across anything that doesn't work. I can put the SE and MIDI editor side by side and use either. Is there something specific that doesn't work for you?

Thanks!
Yes. The MIDI Edit feature is not working. MIDI Edit: mini-menu in the SE and ME. When MIDI Edit is checked selected notes can be transposed by playing a note on a MIDI keyboard. In DP9 it's not working for me in the ME. It will work when you first do "Open Track in ME", but stops working if you change the Master track (move the little pencil to another track). Are you able to perform MIDI Edit transposing after changing the Master track (moving the selector-window pencil)?

...to make this even more difficult and convoluted: MIDI Editor behaves normally in CW, just not in independent ME windows. ...I like to keep the MIDI Editor open on a separate Desktop. Not in the CW.

I'll give that a try when I have everything fired up.

For me, it works in the CW, and it doesn't matter if I change the master track or not, any selected note can be edited from my Keylab 61. If I pop the MIDI or Sequence editor out of the CW, both still works, and again it doesn't matter which is the master track in the MIDI editor.

Well, crap. So even when the MIDI Editor is popped out you (and presumably others) can change the Master track and still have MIDI Edit capabilities? Weird. I wonder why the heck it doesn't work for me! ...Anyway, thank you for taking the time to investigate for me bayswater! It's appreciated.

Yes, but as I mentioned it works whether I change the master track or not. Any MIDI note from the tracks shown in the editor can be edited via MIDI.
Scanning the DP 9 threads, we see a lot of things that are working for some of us and not others. There are very few reported bugs I've been able to reproduce. Others can't get basic functions working. It's quite frustrating all round.

In case anyone else is having this issue, MOTU was able recreate the problem and said it would be addressed in a future update.

Thanks for reporting back. It's annoying that these errors happen for some and not for others. I could understand it if there were bugs specific to Windows and OS X, but the current situation of so much variation in our experiences on more or less the same setup doesn't say much for overall system robustness.

Just discovered an easy workaround for this issue. By simply clicking on the desktop and then clicking back in the MIDI Editor brings back the MIDI Edit function.
