Yes, I have had it crash when inserting volume and pan on the actual track, it does this pretty consistently. Opening up the automation lane and inserting it in the lane seems to work.

Yep! Me too. I thought it might be my machine. I restarted DP and finally reboot and was able to insert ok but haven't put DP thru a true stress test. Let's all report a tech link on this one. MOTU must face (really this time).

I'm on 10.10.4 and a 2013 nMP 4 core with 32mb of RAM.

Tested again just now - CRASH! reported thru crash reported as well.

Going back to DP8. I see a DP 9.01 in the future... hopefully soon.

This is another bug that is not happening on my test projects. Does it happen if you do an automation snapshot from the start of the sequence to the end before drawing any additional automation events?

Why would that make it difference?

The manual makes a point of recommending taking an initial snapshot of everything. I have the impression from my tinkering with 9 that editing automation events works better if it done. It seemed to be related to the inconsistency I experienced earlier in being able to delete automation events, and in anomalies in the Event List editor. I haven't tried to nail down any of these things, but thought the initial snapshot might be the reason I don't experience some of these issues.

Just tried it with a snapshot. Same result.

Hard to believe that got past all the beta testers.

I bet it's related to the new "lanes" feature!

Not running any control surfaces except occasionally the DP control app. I removed the OSC option from the Setup. Same crash. I'm not inclined to troubleshoot this any farther.

That could depend on the systems used by the beta testers. See the impressions thread. Not everyone is seeing all, or even most, of the errors. And if MOTU does QA like most places, not every known error detected by beta tests is fixed before release.

Just for curiosity I tried this and I'm getting the same crash as some of you guys.

Definetly Motu should take a look at this too.
