MIDI issue when using ReWire

Hi,

I am using Live 9 as a slave and have set up tracks according to the DP8 manual for rewire: MIDI [output: Live track], Audio [input: Live track].

I get audio when playing MIDI notes, but after a few seconds the MIDI notes start to echo and repeat. I have 'Sync Recorded MIDI to Path Thru' turned off (it was causing issues during MIDI recording).

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Controllers: M-Audio Oxygen61 and Oxygen25
OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
DAW: DP 8.07, Ableton Live 9.1.6, 64-bit

What hardware interface and ASIO driver are you using?

I'm using a scarlett 2i2 with ASIO driver (should be focusrite driver).

That's supposed to be a pretty solid driver on the PC. I had something similar happen with a 2i4.

I'm running PC and what I know for PCs is that if you're running an i3, i5, or i7 processor, turning off SpeedStep in the BIOS will keep the CPU from changing frequency speeds while running applications. This has been known to be an issue for some PC setups which affect DAWs from playing smoothly/correctly.

For now, my only suggestion would be to turn off SpeedStep and try a different latency. Mine stabilized at 7 and at 10ms. It's odd that anything else gave me issues but that's what I did.

Sorry I don't have a rock-solid solution but this is what worked for me. I hope someone can give you a better answer. I'd like to see how this gets solved.

Peace.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try turning off SpeedStep and see how that goes.

Before I got the chance to mess around in BIOS, the problem went away with DP9.
