Hello
Since 1 week, i'm triyng to run Kontakt 5 Plug In with digital performer 8.
When I go to Project --> Add Track --> Instrument Track --> I can only see : MOTU et Insert setting

Somebody could help me?

Are you using a Windows computer or a Mac computer? I see this post is in the Windows forum, but since this is your first post and English isn't your primary language, I thought I'd double check.

I think most folks here are on Macs, but you can still get good help here. Perhaps you can tell us more about what steps you have taken. Can you run Kontakt in stand-alone mode?

Same here - Kontakt doesn't work.

Windows 8.1 x64 DP 8 demo.

This is a deal-breaker for me.

Can you start up Kontakt in stand alone mode?

Yes, no problem.

And the VST works perfectly in Studio One and Reaper on this system.

This sounds like a 32/64 bit issues. I've had this trouble with some other instruments. It also happens with effects put on an aux track with nothing assigned to the track.

Kontakt works fine here in Windows, but I'll see if I can try to make it not work here in a similar fashion.

Hopefully someone else knows in the meantime.

I'm running Kontakt 4 with a very large library (Requiem Professional) and it's working fine here. Here's my specs:

Windows 7, 64-bit, SP1
16GB RAM
DP8.07

Are you sure DP has completed its examination of the plugin?
Are you sure you've told DP which folder to find the plugin?
Are you sure both DP and Kontakt have been installed correctly?
Did you check to make sure both Kontakt and DP are either 64 bit or 32 bit?
Do you have sufficient memory?

The examination of VST at startup is supposed to reexamine whenever it launches, if:

VST plugin... skipped

It will not try again if:

VST plugin... failed


You can see this in the "Preferences" window. Under "Audio Plugins".

As it stands, DP8.07 will NOT do it's proper job with the VST REexaminations. So if you hit skip, it will not show up in your menus, and stay that way.

To fix this, you can delete the single preference: User\AppData\Local\MOTU\MOTU Audio System\Audio Plugin Preferences. (that's off the top of my head so I'll try to remember to correct it if I'm wrong). PS: This is a hidden folder, turn on hidden folders in Control Panel\Folder Options.

Then start DP8 again. I got Alchemy working last night after I had skipped it the first time. Another thing: DP8 can take a LONG time to examine. Feels like a crash. Just go make coffee and come back.

I think I found the solution...

Kontakt-->Options-->Engine-->Send MIDI to outside world-->Turn 'off' Incoming notes
