AVB Routing Problems

Hi,

This is probably more of a tech support question but maybe someone has some insight into this.

I have a new system with two 112Ds, a 24ai and an AVB Switch, originally I had my Windows 7 PC connected via USB2 to both the 112Ds, I have since changed that to only one USB2 connection.

When I attempt to route signals on the 112D that does not have the USB connection, the GUI shows that it took but the signal doesn't actually get routed and if I refresh the webpage it shows that it wasn't taken. If I move the USB connection to the 112D I want to route on, it works but the other one doesn't.

I have the latest firmware installed everywhere and have tried both IE and Firefox.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Have you checked out the AVB Gearslutz thread? Mr. Miller of MOTU has been actively and personally responding to questions there. Lengthy thread, but your issue may have already been raised.

And you have AVB streams enabled for each device and those routes show up? but don't 'stick'?

Thanks, I haven't looked at the other thread but will.

Actually, I'm just commissioning the system and where I've noticed the problems is trying to route a Tone signal I have on an AES input of the 112D to the various AES outputs for test. The remote AVB streams "seem" to be stick when I route them.

I have the clock master assigned to one of the 112Ds, the other ones are synced to AVB, is there something beyond that?

I don't have a system in front of me ATM, but I recall there were several versions of AVB system sync in the menu, and I had to think about it a bit.

Phoned Tech Support and spoke with Chris. He knew exactly what I was talking about and said that they have seen this with Firefox and that I should try Chrome which fixed the problem. He also said that I could enter the IP address of the interface I needed to control into the browser and that would work as a workaround. He said there will be updated firmware "shortly" to fix the issue.

The Gods of MOTU strike again. God I love this company.

Glad you got it sorted, Lloyd.

AVB is on the cards for me once I've ditched my PCI system and a bunch of synths... and my 3 Line6 processors. I'm seriously Jonesin' for those convertors, mate! LOL

Really starting to miss cue mix. Not a fan of it using my web browser. Sure... its a fun trick, but this browser window option is sometimes slow... when I want to click between routing and mixer there's sometimes a bit of an annoying lag. Old cue mix and motu audio set up were FAST.

And the routing though its nice to have all these options... the way its laid out has a convoluted look.

I really hope there's maybe attempt to make a better version of this... maybe a REAL driver instead of something tying up my web browser.

Sorry to be one of the complainers. To my credit I've been using lots of different motu gear for over 12 years.

I hear you, starbearer76.

I'm already missing CueMix and I haven't even upgraded to AVB yet! I absolutely love CueMix - it couldn't be simpler or easier to use; even I managed to get my head around it, which is saying something, really. Brilliant, IMHO.

Hopefully we'll get used to the "new way" and ultimately be appreciative of its additional power.

Open multiple browser tabs in an AVB dedicated browser, assign various AVB pages to various tabs. Instantaneous. Optimize that bowser: I close the tool bar/etc so there's nothing available but the tabs. I've got 16A/mix, 16A/aux, 16A/route, Monitor 8/route all on tabs.

Wow. Sounds pretty schmicko, Doug.

Mate, I'll be hasslin' you for tips once I get my furry lil' mitts on the system...
