Internal Error: Library Not Open 15008

Just upgraded to DP8 and opened an old DP 6 project to check it is fine but it is not happy.
Background processing goes crazy repeating tasks which always fail over and over again.
This seems to prevent DP from playing well, the GUI is slow and jerky, the audio glitchy.
Anyone had this "Internal Error: Library Not Open 15008" and know how to make DP happy again?
Thanks,
John

Never saw that but I'd try closing the project in DP8, then LOAD each sequence (chunk) including sound bites, thereby forcing the rewrite of the audio and using only DP8 settings.
If that doesn't work there a few other options, however tedious. DP6 was Pia Zadora of MOTU releases and nothing would surprise me when it comes to mishegas from a DP6 project.

Was the DP 6 project created on this Mac or another?
Are you opening the project in 32 or 64 bit? If 64, try it in 32.
What library is giving you the error?

I don't know what library is the problem. The error message doesn't say.
I just created a new project then imported chunks from old. This caused DP8 to convert all the sound designer II files to WAVs. I also got three -50 errors during importing chunks but they came in fine.
This seems to have reduced the number of "Internal Error: Library Not Open 15008" errors from hundreds down to just two. However they don't stop because each time a task fails it tries again, so background processing never stops.
If I change "analyse automatically" to "analyse when needed" then background processing stops and the project plays fine.
How do I start DP in 32 bit mode to see if the error goes away?

You didn't answer my question. Was the project created on the same Mac?

Yes same Mac Pro. Although I later installed a new drive and put 10.9.5 on it.
I have DP6 on an old drive inside same machine with 10.6.8 on it.
Bizarrely DP6 also seems to run better under 10.9 than it did under 10.6. I created an alias to old drive from new one to run DP6 as the installer no longer works on 10.9.

Incidentally, I also just tried 32 bit mode and errors are the same. So not related to that.

Ok, so the project folders are or were on a different drive. I expected an answer like that.
Do Get Info on a project folder. If you aren't listed as an administrator, add your admin account. Grant Read & Write privileges to all users. Click on Apply to enclosed items in the dropdown menu. This fixed a similar issue for me. See if it helps.
To open DP 8 in 32 bit mode, do Get Info and you'll see a check box. I see you figured that out.
If you haven't run Repair Permissions in Apple's Disk Utility, do so. Failure to do this so can cause problems.
DP 5.11 and later including 6.03 will run in OS 10.7 through Yosemite. What you can't do is authorize a new installation after OS 10.6.8 of anything earlier than DP 7.24.

Repaired permissions. Checked permissions on project folder (they were all everybody).
No change.
Anyway the project is now usable without glitching as long as I don't turn on 'analyse audio files for DSP' in preferences.
My guess is the unloadable library is only necessary for something in the few remaining audio files that make it crazy.
Thanks for your help everybody who tried.

You're welcome. The LOAD feature can fix many problems when a project has issues.
As for the last two peoblems, try opening the audio in another program and exporting a new file and re importing that to DP.

QuickTime 7.6.6 is good for that. It rewrites the header leaving the raw audio intact.
If you don't have it, it's available for free from Apple. It installs in your Utilities Folder and must remain there to work properly. If you have a QT 6 or 7 Pro key for Mac, this will take it.
If you have an old install of QT 7.7, trash it -- hasn't worked since OS 10.5.x.
