OMG , here we go agin... OMF

Post by apanacci »

Hey guys, I know this has been covered, but when I got DP8, OMF files opened a few times no problem. Now, when I try and open them they crash DP. I opened them in PT11 and Logic 9 no problems, so nothing wrong with the files. I actually opened them in AudioDesk and then saved them as DP files.Do not know how long that will last. Been having this problem since DP5. Trying to figure this out. Opens the file, creates a folder and before the waveforms are written in the Tracks window then crashes. Any suggestions? Thanks !

Open them in PT11 and then Consolidate the audio files and export them from the Audio files window as WAV or AIFF. You can all export the MIDI files as an SMF from PT. Then open the MIDI file in DP, create lanes for each of the audio files you exported, and import those audio files back into DP and place them in the corresponding lanes.

Seriously, just forget about opening an OMF file in DP. It isn't reliable, it never has been. Like
the old joke about the patient telling the doctor it hurts when he moves his arm and the doctor tells him "don't move your arm"…if it isn't working, then just don't do it.

I open in PT, then export as AAF and open with DP.

Were these files created on this Mac? I'm betting not. How'd I do?
