Hi all,

I am new. Just thought id introduce myself :)
I have a 1.5 Pbook running panther 10.3.5, with bluetooth and airport installed. I left my machine on overnight and now The bluetooth icon dispays "bluetooth not avaliable" I dont move my machine around all that much but did have it in target disk mode the other night and I may have just overlooked this for a couple of days.

I dont really use bluetooth all that much, but i was just curious if anyone else has encountered this prob??

Cheers in advance for any advice.

Drox,

Glad things returned to normal. Some services like airport and bluetooth have an anecdotal tendency to get glitchy when the machine goes to sleep. I think you're on the right track with the system upgrade, but you might want to review the comments over at Macintouch.com to make sure you're not trading one set of problems for another.

I normally wait about two weeks after any system update before installing it to see what problems shake out both on Macintouch and on this board.

Cheers!

hi drox,
not your system; it's the power management of usb devices [your internal modem and bluetooth are usb]; with the machine shut down, hold down apple+shift then touch the power button. it may start up, or you might have to start it up [wait 30 seconds]. you should find your bluetooth comes back. i know it's back now, but if it goes again. mine disappears weekly!
