Loud G5

I just got My mac G5 dual 2 ghz.
This thing is pretty loud.Is anyone else having
the same issue?

Are you talking about the 9 fans or the beeping and distortion? If it's the Beeping then CHUD Tools will silence that but the fans not.

I've heard rumors that the 10.3.9 update corrected the loud fan issue. I haven't updated since 10.3.5 so I can't confirm this.

What system are you running? 10.3.8 by any chance?

I've got a dual 2.5 and it sounds like a jet taking off sometimes. I thought these things were supposed to be whisper quiet. I guess It would be if I lived next to LAX. I've been through Osx 10.3.5 to 10.3.9 it's the same with each.

I have a G5 Duo 2 Ghz since two weeks, running with 10.3.5, I can tell you it is much quieter than the G4 I had before, which was already not so loud since I could put a microphone 3 ft above and 2 ft aside without having it recorded...
What you say is very surprising. I listened carefully to many G5 Duo 2 Ghz in stores before and always found they were quiet.
Hope you'll find a solution, maybe by changing the fans ???

I read you guys and I wonder .....a couple of things possible ....
Your microphones are very sensitives or you have bad software in your G5 or you have a very hot spot because my G5 is the most silent piece of equipment I ever had ....
And I got a HP pc that I made compares and I do not hear my G5 ....
