I'll go watch that. I have old hardware anyway. My iPhone 4 is still on iOS 6 because I heard how it slows it down. I have an iPad 2 and it's also still on iOS 6.

Updated since I don't really use my iPhone for anything particularly sensitive (except voice and emails). So far, it's the most useless update ever. They didn't fix anything I had a problem with (Maps and Music apps), and they only added obscure behind-the-scenes stuff that I'll probably never use (new keyboards? 1000 ways to artificially retouch photos? come on!). Once Yosemite comes out (and we know works), some of the iCloud Drive and air drop stuff will really come alive, but for now... who gives a crap?
Still no artist view with albums in Music?
Still no bus and bike routes in Maps?
fail...

Minimum iPhone for iOS8 is 4S. The 4 won't do it. V8.0 shows a significant increase in memory and CPU drain on the 4S, like V7 did on the iPhone 4. I'll wait to see if 8.1 improves efficiency.

Yeah... seriously I get by fine in iOS 6. Never felt compelled to make the jump on my iPhone 4, because friends with the iPhone 4 told me it made their phones feel slow.

FWIW, I changed my mind and installed iOS 8. I'm liking it a lot. It's a very "smooth," fast, and intuitive interface and changes the experience of using the phone in a very positive way in my experience. I'm on a 5S/32GB.

I'll do it soon enough on my 5S.
I didn't care for iOS 7 on my 4S as it shortened battery life. Taking all the recommended steps on some web sites did bring much of it back, however.

Liking it more and more. Swiping messages away by just swiping them off to the left (not having to hit delete every time)..Predictive text is also working well.

I'm on my iPad and just had my screen freeze and Safari crash while posting to another thread. I haven't seen that in years.
I'll try a complete shut down and reboot to see if it happens again. Otherwise, I'm liking what I see in iOS 8.

Just put in my order for an iPhone 6+. My 4s is still running iOS6, so I'm just gonna' wait until the new big thing who's up.
If you didn't know, all/most of the carriers have trade in offers. I'm getting $200 for my 4s from Verizon, reducing the new phone's cost to $99 plus ancillary expenses. Verizon's trade in deal is on until 9/30.

I like the smaller size of the 5S. The watch thing doesn't appeal to me but if I can use it like Dick Tracy they might pull me in. Small is good.

Noticing more great features. Access to ALL phone menus while still on a call. Multitasking for the phone app. It's about time. Double click on the home button brings up recent people & apps. Bookmarks in Safari also brings up most recent sites. This is no small update. It really is a giant leap for the iPhone.

I downloaded and installed last night. Just more stuff to disable as far as I'm concerned. Guess
I'm just a curmudgeon…I don't want my phone tracking my every move or sharing anything with the rest of the world.

Loving IOs8 on my new iPhone 6. Been using an iPhone 4 for the last 3 1/2 years, so this is really nice

Luddite.
Just kidding, actually I totally agree with you. I don't want to have all my data collected and sold to marketers, who will in turn use it to flood me with more offers to buy more junk that I don't need. That said, Apple isn't quite as bad as some of their competitors in this area.
