Hi,

I recently added a MOTU audio express. When connecting a mic to it (via Mic/Inst 1), and then into DP-8 via USB, I noticed the mic is always 'on' and able to receive input, even when the DP track select/rec enable button is not engaged. I didn't use to experience this with my 828 mk2.

Probably something really basic I am missing, but between DP, CueMix and the audio express unit itself, I can't find a way of muting the mic for playback. Am I missing something?

Do you have the Audio Input Monitor button turned off? Or, if on, is the mode set the way you want? See manual p 217.

Yes, I tried that. It is not muting the mic, even if the track is not record-enabled. Thanks for trying.

Try muting it in Cuemix? The signal will still get to DP.

Nope. Tried that. The CueMix track mute, even the master track mute, makes no difference. I had wondered whether it was to do with 'Audio Patch Through' on DP, but it doesn't seem to work either. Right now all I can do is unplug the mic...hardly practical!

Maybe time to go to tech support
