Mixing board Trim automation modes

One small complaint I have about using the trim automation modes in the mixing board. (especially trim touch and range trim touch)- the fader doesn't return to 0 or neutral, after releasing it, so the track being automated plays back at the level of the trim fader even after automation data ramps back to existing levels.
So, for example:
If you're trying to trim automation on the fly, using trim touch, and actually hear how it sounds coming out when you release the fader, the fader doesn't return to neutral. Therefore, the existing automation levels after your trim move are now being played back at the level the trim fader is at, even though recording of automation as ceased. Seems like trim touch should work in a similar fashion to regular touch mode, in that the fader returns to 0 in this case, allowing you to hear preexisting automation levels correctly.
In trim range automation, it would be nice to be able to set the trim fader to your desired level ahead of time, and not have that playback level actually take effect until the wiper reaches your selection. Again, that would make it possible to check the level transitions, coming in and out of your selection, on the fly.
Yes, I know about change continuous data and the trim tool options. It would just be nice to be able to have that flexibility on the fly, using the mixer board and faders.
thanks,
Carlos
