DirectMusic MIDI clock does not appear to be running

This has likely been discussed before but I have found no solution. I apologize if that is the case.

I finally got my new studio set up using the web site download of Windows Digital Performer 8 and the MIDI won't play. On DP startup I get the message: "DirectMusic MIDI clock does not appear to be running".

I have installed drivers for an M-Audio's M-Track Plus USB interface.

I have unhooked the interface and tried to run MIDI alone, same problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

They had the same problem in this thread: http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtop ... 31&t=54165 and it appeared to be a problem with the drivers.

PS - Posting across multiple forums is a no-no around here.

Sorry about the triple posting. I haven't posted before or for a long time and I hit the wrong selection(s) on the drop down. I also just found out I could delete.

Thanks.

I had checked that posting before I posted. It was dated in May, but no solution yet?. Is it the MOTU or M-Audio Driver?
Does this problem exist in both the Mac and windows versions?

DirectMusic is a PC thing - AFAIK there are no equivalent problems on the Mac (at least nothing's turned up here that I remember). The one constant in the old thread was the M-Audio drivers, so I would think the issue is with the combination of DP and drivers. Have you tried uninstalling the Tapco drivers to see if they are the problem? Give MOTU tech support a call - they've really been on their game lately.
