Stuck Images

Hi List..
I've got a problem with some window images getting stuck when closing. For example.. I'm working with stylus rmx.. and when I close the VI window.. an image remains and I can't close it.. it's just stuck on my screen. This has also happened with Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst. Certainly odd behaviour here and rather annoying. I have no idea if this is a DP thing (7.4/OS MLion).. or a system or VI software issue. In older systems we'd try trashing preferences but things seemed to have changed with the newer OSX's. I've run disk warrior to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks!

I was just about to start a thread about this! I searched but it's a tough one to search for.

AU plugs - you click the close button and the top info bar closes but the rest of the GUI gets stuck on the screen. Only closing the file will close it. Happens with UAD, Spectrasonics, PSP and others very sporadically and happens on any kind of file including very simple untaxing DP files. Once it starts it does it with every plugin that you try to close. I recently begrudgingly had to upgrade from my beloved 10.6.8 to 10.8.5 and it started happening a while after that. I'll also mention something else that started happening concurrently, in case it's relevant: when I double click a DP file, sometimes, but not always it tells me I'm opening DP for the very first time.

I'v never had that problem. Perhaps DP8 will resolve it for you.

If you go to DP8, Phil, consider running 64 bit and bumping up your RAM.

Try invoking OSX's "Expose" feature (remember that?) and see if you can't shut the windows down from there.

thanks everyone..
is there not a way to trash preferences or something similar? I did not find any MOTU in the preferences folder. Stylus is the primary culprit in this.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I trashed prefs and reinstalled DP.

No fix from me, just a +1 that it's happening for me as well. With UAD plugs.

yep, happens loads here too on DP 7.24.

Though I'm starting to wonder if it's a Memory issue, as only seems to happen with my larger sequences...

It wan't happening to me before I 'upgraded' from 10.6.8. to 10.8.5.
10.8.5 seems overall more sluggish to me than 10.6.8.

Again I want to point out this GUI issue happens to me at random times on really small, simple DP projects that are NOT RAM or CPU intensive. I don't do the gigantic template thing or anything even close.

I read the bug list from the latest version of DP8 and that doesn't seem like a good solution. Even if DP8 solved this issue it appears it would probably break something else. I'm not getting COQ's for example as reported in the 8.06 bug thread.

Certainly an issue with RX 2 and DP 7.24 and 8. If I opened the GUI and didn't close it when I was done, I would get that unless I waited quite awhile. RX 1 and RX 3 didn't give me that problem. I've not experienced it with anything else.
