Snapper and Barbabatch lose LAME Under 10.9.2

I was having some networking issues and re-installed 10.9.2 via the App Store download. Now I get this when BBB (Snapper complains, too) starts up:

I have LAME 3.97 in the /Library/Frameworks directory. DP 8.0.6 and DSP-Quattro export MP3s without problem. I tried deleting all the preference files, to no avail. LAME.framework has read and execute permissions for everyone. I followed the Audioease Forum instructions for fixing this but it didn't fix it for me and I left a post about this but it's the weekend in NL so I'd appreciate any suggestions of what else to try. Has anyone else seen this?

I miss my Snapper!!

That's where DP 7 and earlier expect to find it. As DSP-Q is still 32bit, maybe it's using that encoder but DP 8 is not.

For DP 8, you need 3.98 or later in this form, libmp3lame.dylib and it needs to go here:
Library/Audio/Plug-ins/MOTU Audio Export

Most users no longer bother as DP 8.0.2 did away with requiring LAME to create mp3 files.

You'll find more info here:

I'm not remembering where I found 3.99 but I think it sounds better than 3.98 so I never removed it from Library/Audio/Plug-ins/MOTU Audio Export
